For this project I’m paying homage to the film Parasite. While also referencing some techniques and ideas from the film Taxi driver, Joker, and The Shining. Parasite is a 2019 South Korean black comedy thriller film directed by Bong Joon-ho. The story has a theme of greed and class discrimination which threaten the newly formed symbiotic relationship between the wealthy Park family and the destitute Kim clan. It gives the idea that the poor and rich are each other’s parasite, as the poor relies on the money given by the rich, while the rich relies on the servers of the poor. As this film is more than two hours, I’ve chosen to adopt its famous scene ‘the perfect montage’ and the story’s theme in my own homage. In the film I want to portray this norm for the rich and the mind play of the poor, as he starts to gain hatred toward the rich due to the class discrimination. Therefore, I would create a short montage that conveys the same idea of the relationships between the rich and poor, so I chose to name the film  ‘Tools’. The storyline then goes by the setting of two colleagues one rich and one poor, then the rich uses the poor to do things for him when the poor needs the money, while also performing class discrimination through his tone and action.
